Mr. Bowman’s Bulletin
April 21, 2017
Parents and Families,
It’s good to be back! Thank you for being supportive of my time off with my new child! Our family is blessed and excited.
The school supply list/order form for 3rd grade went home with students yesterday. Ordering supplies through the form is optional.
This week we continued our unit on Fairy Tales. We will be using Fairy Tales next week for Reader’s Theater. Each student will be given a part in a story to act out for the class. We will be working on improving our fluency.
In writing, students are finishing end-of-year personal narrative projects. I will be using these writing pieces to assess their writing for the end of the year.
We are finishing our word study unit with a test, and will begin new words on Monday.
The past two weeks, students have been working hard on 3 digit addition and subtraction. Next week, we will review major math concepts of 2nd grade to prepare for our end-of-year MAP test. My class is scheduled to take the MAP the first week of May.
Students are learning about Economics. Economics is the consuming and producing of goods and services. Students need to understand how people are both buyers and sellers, the difference between goods and services, and the difference between needs and wants.
