26 students named National Merit Commended Scholars
26 students named National Merit Commended Scholars

Twenty-six high school students from Dublin City Schools have been named Commended Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This high number of commended scholars comes just days after the District learned it has the most National Merit Scholar Semifinalists (40), of any district in Ohio for the second year.

Dublin Jerome Assistant Principal Kristy Venne has been named the leader of the District’s academic pathways programs to be housed at the former Verizon building.

The safety of our students is the District’s number one priority. With that in mind, Dublin City Schools has asked the Ohio Department of Education for what is known as a “waiver day” on Oct. 2 to provide staff with important training about keeping students safe.

Last spring, our academic team conducted 71 focus groups involving more than 670 parents, teachers, students, business and industry partners, city government officials and administrators. More than 2,100 data points were collected to put together the Profile of a Graduate document.

Grant money used towards training employees in process efficiency
Grant money used towards training employees in process efficiency
Dublin City Schools' commitment to efficiency and maximizing taxpayer dollars recently resulted in the completion of several projects expected to save the District time and money. Three different projects were conducted under Nathan Rohyans, Coordinator of Operation Excellence for the District, and Strategic Leadership Solutions.

During its meeting on May 22, the Dublin City Schools Board of Education purchased approximately 39 acres of land in Jerome Village for $1 to be used for a future elementary school and middle school.

Board approves funding for District's one to one tech initiative
At the end of the fiscal year meeting on June 29, the Dublin City Schools Board of Education approved the funding for the District's one to one technology initiative in grades 6-12.
