Davis Boys Basketball Camp this June!
The Davis Boys Basketball coaches will be holding their 6th & 7th grade boys basketball camp this June 17 - June 20  for all interested boys that attend Davis Middle School.  This camp is designed to improve the skill set,  knowledge and enthusiasm for basketball and to get all of our young men ready for tryouts this coming winter.  This camp is limited to the first 36 registrants so don't delay.  You can go to the "downloads" section on the main athletics page to download the needed registration form.  If you have any questions,  you can email Coach Dustin Burger (burger_dustin@dublinschools.net) or John Bernans (bernans_john@dublinschools.net)

Dublin Scioto Scheduled Sports Meetings
1.  There would be a meeting for next year boys golfers on Tuesday,  May 21 at 3:45 pm. for all of those interested in golf next fall.  The meeting will take place in room F9.
2.  There will be cheer clinics on May 24, 28 and 29 at Scioto in the main gym at 4:00 pm.  Tryouts are on Thursday, May 30 at 4:00 pm.  This is for those interested in becoming a member of the 2013 - 2014.

Cheerleading Tryouts are now in May!
Cheerleading tryouts for Davis Middle School's football and basketball teams will now be held in May this year.  There will be two MANDATORY dates for clinics,  which are May 16 & May 17 from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm in the gym.
Tryouts will be held on Saturday,  May 18 from 08:00 am - Noon.  Results of tryouts will be given directly after tryouts.  Following the tryouts,  those that make the squad will have a mandatory parent meeting at 4:00 on that Saturday to go over important season information. If you have any questions,  please contact Coach Back at: back_elizabeth@dublinschools.net

Remember that you MUST have a current Ohio High School Physcial Form on file in the Davis Athletic office BEFORE tryouts.  Click on the "Click for more"  tab to download physical screening sites in Dublin and obtain an OHSAA physical form.

Changes to Spring Mass Physicals in Dublin
Dublin City Schools will no longer hold Mass Spring Sports Physicals at their three high schools.  Click on the "click for more" tab below to read about these changes,  new sites and philosophy behind sports physicals.  There you will also be able to print a copy of the current Ohio High School Athletic Association physical form.

Do you want to receive the most current Davis Sports updates by text or email?
As the Spring Sports season approaches,  the Davis Athletic Department has a new "App"  that will give you the latest updates on things such as weather cancellations,  schedule changes,  Meeting times and dates and a variety of more information.
Simply sign up for the Davis Athletics Spring 2013 text or email notification system from the makers of Remind101.  With this app,  you will be able to receive text messages or emails sent straight to you about cancellations (which there are a lot in the spring!) time or location changes and meeting reminders!  This will give you instant updates and help you stay in touch with Davis sports during those times you may not be able to check the website.  
Simply go to the "Forms to Download" tab on the main page here,  and print off the easy, step by step direction sheet to sign up today!  Takes about 1 minutes to be connected to all of the latest sports information!
This is a "push only"  application.  The Athletic Department can send out messages to all subscribers,  but you may not text back with questions.  All questions will still require a follow up email or phone call to the Athletic Department.

New Concussion Parent / Student Requirement from Ohio High School
Dear Parents and players, 
The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has adopted a new by- law by direction of the Governors office that requires ALL parents and players involved in any sports from grades 7 - 12 to read and sign the new Concussion Information Sheet for Interscholastic Athletics.  Please take a moment to read and review the down loadable form from our Form Download section of the web page.  After you and your student have read the information,  please sign (both parent & player) the acknowledgment form from OHSAA and the Ohio Department of Health.  YOU MUST HAVE THIS SIGNED AND RETURNED BEFORE YOUR SON OR DAUGHTERS FIRST COMPETITION THIS SPRING.  Please send this form in to your coach via your athlete or drop it by the Athletic Office as soon as possible.  This is a new requirement for our Davis athletic parents and players.  IF you have any questions, please call Mr. Bernans at the Athletic Department.

Dublin High School Lacrosse Night
The Dublin Scioto High School Boys Lacrosse team is having a Lacrosse Night with the Ohio Machine on Thursday, May 23 at 7:30 pm.  Special offer for Dublin Scioto Lacrosse supporters - there will be half-priced tickets.
*   Girls Field Hockey will also be hosting a Free Field Hockey clinic for all girls interested.  The dates are April 28, May 5 and May 19.  Times are from 1:00 - 3:00 pm each day and the clinics will be held oat Dublin Coffman High School.  Call Christy Meeks @ 792-9923 or contact by email at cmeeks@columbus.rr.com.

Planning ahead for Fall Sports 2013-2014 School Year
Planning ahead for your summer vacations...and Fall Sports tryouts!

Please keep in mind these start dates for our Fall Sports programs offered in the Fall of the 2013 - 2014 school year.

Tryout Expectations:  If your student is going to participate in a Fall Sport that is a "Cut" sport (team with limited positions)  it is imperative that they attend the scheduled tryout dates.  You must have a current Physical on file with the Athletic Office PRIOR to your tryout dates.  Those athletes without a physical on file will not be allowed to tryout or have a delayed/special tryout.

This is the new form needed for all Athletic Physicals when you renew your yearly physical.
