6th Grade Sports Camp Information

Attention 6th Grade Parents,

 The Davis Athletic Department is once again offering our Irish Athletics 6th Grade Sports Camp Program.  This program is designed to help our 6th grade students "tryout" and explore their many interests in the many different sports we offer at Davis beginning their 7th grade year.  The program gives 6th graders the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of two day sports camps for each of our sports.  Led by qualified and experienced coaches from our sports staff, each participant will learn the fundamental skills of each sport, become acquainted with and develop a rapport with their "future" coaches and most of all have fun!  Did we mention the Athletic Camp T-Shirt?

Informational packets went out to all 6th graders on Monday, March 23.  You may also print off a copy of the program offerings and registration forms from the Athletics Forms for Download section of the Athletic Web page.

Registrations are due by Friday,  April 10!  So don't delay,  register today and come out and play!  See the down loadable attachment for a complete schedule of camps.

Cheerleading Tryouts for Fall & Winter 2015

Tryouts for the Football & Basketball Cheerleading squads for the 2015 school year will be held on the following days:


*  May 14 -  Cheer Clinic Day 1 -  5:30 - 7:30

*  May 15 -  Cheer Clinic Day 2 -  3:15 - 5:30 

*  May 16 -  Official Tryouts - 09:00 a.m. - 12:45

*  An informational flyer will be given out to all those interested in trying out on April 15. 

*  You need to attend both clinic days and tryouts on Saturday,  May 16.

*  You must have a current physical on file with the athletic office prior to tryouts.

*  Any questions,  please contact Coach Back (back_elizabeth@dublinschools.net) or Mr. Bernans in the A.D. Office. 

Spring Sports Parent Meeting Dates
The Dublin School District and the Ohio High School Athletic Association require parents to attend a Sports / Parents Meeting prior to participation in middle and high school sports.  So in order for your child to participate in sports at Davis Middle School,  you must attend one of the following meetings IF YOU DID NOT ATTEND a sports meeting in the Fall or Winter sports season.  If you did attend,  we have your attendance in our data base and you do not have to come to the Spring meeting.  Failure to attend will result in your student not being able to participate in the sport of their choice.
Meeting Dates:
* March 10 @ 7:00 pm in the school commons
* March 12 @ 7:00 pm in the school commons
* March 25 @ 7:00 pm in the school commons

* Remember that all students trying out must have a current physical on file with the Athletic Office before March 23 in order to tryout.
*  There will be an informational meeting during 7th & 8th grade lunch periods the week of March 2, 2015.  Announcements will be made prior to the meetings.
*  Tryouts will take place on March 23 - 25 at the Davis tennis courts.  (Bring both indoor and outdoor clothing)
*  Each student trying out must have their own racquet for tryouts.

Fall Sports Information for 2015 / 2016 Season

Remember that all athletes must have a current physical (on the approved OHSAA form) in the athletic office PRIOR to all tryouts or joining a team.
Please make note when planning summer vacations for the summer of 2015,  that Fall 2015 Sports tryouts will be held on Aug 3,  2015.  If you miss tryouts for a particular sport in most cases you will not be able to join a team.  Contact the Mr. Bernans if you have any questions.
Required Sports Forms on Parent Dashboard
The required forms for Davis Athletic participation can be found on the Dublin on-line "Parent Dashboard."  This is an on-line student/parent information management system that offers opportunities for families to create and submit on-line forms.  Each parent will need to create an Athletic Emergency Medical Authorization Form for his/her child before the first date of participation in either tryouts or practice.  
1.  Click on http://dashboard.dublinschools.net/parents
2.  Enter your Log-In Information
3.  Once you reached your dashboard, click on "Forms."
4.  Select "Optional Forms."
5.  Complete an "Athletic Emergency Medical Authorization Form."
* This form must be filled out prior to your child's first date of participation.

*  Be sure that both the Parent & Student electronically sign each form!
*  Other Forms to be completed on-line once you have made a Team:
- Concussion Acknowledgment Form - Needs to be completed again each sport season.
- Athletic Code -  Needs to be signed once a year
- Athletic Eligibility - Needs to be signed once a year
