Change in Required Parent/Athletic Meeting Schedule
The meeting scheduled for Wednesday,  October 29 has been canceled.  The only two remaining meetings are now on Tuesday,  November 4 and Thursday, November 6.  Both still scheduled for a 7:00 start time in the commons.

1.  Physical Form:  All candidates MUST have a CURRENT physical (on the Ohio High School Athletic Association Form) on file with the Davis athletic office PRIOR to the 1st day of tryouts.  If you do not have one on file,  you may not tryout that day.  (No extentions will be give to the tryout period for this reason)
*
2.  Required Athletic Parent Meeting:  A parent must attend one of the following meetings listed below (PRIOR) to tryouts for winter sports.  If you do not attend,  your student may not be able to tryout or be removed from participation.  (If your son or daughter played a fall sport,  you DO NOT have to attend this meeting again.)

3.  Your athlete must attend all tryout days to be considered for a roster spot.

Here is the Open Gym Schedule for both boys and girls wishing to get a little practice time in before tryouts begin later this month:

Boys & Girls Basketball Camps for Tryouts...
Basketball tryouts this year for our 7th & 8th grade boys and girls will be on Friday,  October 31.  In preparation for tryouts,  we are once again offering a "Getting Prepared for Tryouts" camp conducted by Coach Jon Daup & Coach Dave Hoover.  This camp will be held on October, 24 & 25,  2014.  Go to the "Forms for Download" section of the Athletic Web Page to learn more details.  Camp is limited to 24 per session so don't delay!

The required forms for Davis Athletic participation can be found on the Dublin on-line "Parent Dashboard."  This is an on-line student/parent information management system that offers opportunities for families to create and submit on-line forms.  Each parent will need to create an Athletic Emergency Medical Authorization Form for his/her child before the first date of participation in either tryouts or practice.

Dates for Winter & Spring Sports 2014/15
The following are the scheduled tryout dates for winter and spring sports for this academic year.


Winter Sports:

Basketball Open Gyms -  for boys and girls will begin the week of October 20,  2014.  Specific dates and times will be posted mid - September.
*
Basketball Tryouts:  Boys & Girls tryouts will begin on October 31 for 8th grade boys,  Nov 3 for 7th boys and girls as well as 8th grade girls.  
*
Wrestling:  Practice will begin on Friday, November 7,  2014.  There are no "cuts" for wrestling.
Spring Sports:
*
Baseball & Softball:  Tryouts will begin on February 23, 2015.  Specific times TBA.
*
Lacrosse:  Practice for boys and girls will begin on March 9, 2015.  Specifit times TBA.
*
Track:  Practice for boys and girls will begin on March 9, 2015.  Specific times TBA.
*
Boys Tennis:  Tryouts will be held on March 9, 2015.  Specific times TBA.
*

Remember that all athletes must have a current physical (on the approved OHSAA form) in the athletic office PRIOR to all tryouts or joining a team.

Please make note when planning summer vacations for the summer of 2015,  that Fall 2015 Sports tryouts will be held on Aug 1,  2015.  If you miss tryouts for a particular sport in most cases you will not be able to join a team.  Contact the Mr. Bernans if you have any questions.

*  Tryouts for  Football & Basketball Cheerleading for the 2015-2016 seasons will take place in the month of May,  2015.  Specific times and dates will be posted when they become available.
